To start off class, we discussed the beginning of the Russian Revolution and the significance of Vladimir Lenin (as it relates to Animal Farm). If you were absent, there were notes provided for this. After that, we read and discussed Chapters 4-5 in Animal Farm and worked on corresponding questions. During the second period, we watched the first half of the movie Animal Farm (as we are halfway through the novel). After that, students got into groups and discussed certain stereotypes of animals in media. George Orwell uses specific animals to represent specific people, so we discussed the symbolism of this.
