We started off today with 'Parts of Speech' practice. I then proceeded to show personal pictures of Third World countries I've visited (to create imagery for the short story we read today). We discussed certain characteristics of poorer countries, such as shelters, types of jobs, the education systems, conflicts with nature in tropical countries, etc. We then read and discussed the story "The Blue Bead".
