We started off the day with silent reading and notes on interjections. After that, we went to the library to sign out novels (The Outsiders). I proceeded to show a PowerPoint explaining the background information of the author, S.E. Hinton, the context of the story, and some of the 1960's slang. We also briefly discussed the definition of an 'outsider'. We read Chapter 1 for the rest of class; please finish it for homework.
