During yesterday's class, we started off with silent reading and a quiz on Chapters 1-4 of The Outsiders. We then had a lesson on complete sentences, subjects, and predicates. There were notes and a worksheet for this, so please come see me if you weren't here. We then worked on completing a character worksheet based on the character sketches completed a couple of weeks ago.
After the first period, we watched a montage of clips from the move "Gone With the Wind" since The Outsiders alludes to the book on several occasions. We also analyzed the poem "Nothing Gold can Stay" by Robert Frost and discussed its significance in The Outsiders. We finished off class working on Chapter 5 questions and a vocabulary crossword.
