I hope everyone had a relaxing long weekend. Welcome back!

Things we did today:

  • Silent Reading
  • Grammar (punctuation and quotations)
  • Handed in descriptive paragraphs
  • Went over additional hand-out on literary persuasive paragraphs and peer-editing
  • Time given for peer-editing and persuasive paragraph writing
  • Went over the narrative paragraph example and brainstorming plan
  • Watched "The Interlopers" video

  • SHORT STORY TEST: TOMORROW, OCT. 16, 2013
  • Persuasive paragraph (plan, rough copy and good copy) due Friday, Oct. 18, 2013
Here is the topic: 

In a well-organized paragraph, discuss the stereotypes that exist for males and females in our society, and then explore the use of stereotypes in “Think like a Weightlifter, Think Like a Woman” and/or “What Happened During the Ice Storm”.
