We started off class with silent reading and a lesson on comma splices. We then drafted out a plan for a literary paragraph on The Giver. Students have to write a persuasive paragraph explaining if the utopia in the novel is harmful or beneficial to the community. After that, students finished their 'conflict foldables' and we played a game of Jeopardy.
