- Introduced the topics for the literary paragraph on The Hobbit: Students will be asked to write a paragraph on The Hobbit on their test (Monday, June 2, 2014). Students were given 2 topics to choose from in advance. They will not be expected to memorize quotes, but they must include examples from novel. We looked at 3 different examples of paragraphs for The Hobbit (with a topic involving Thorin's transformation) and we discussed ideas on how to structure the paragraph. Here are the topics:
2. Identify the reasons why Bilbo is a good hero
- We did a group activity on themes from The Hobbit
- We started working on a narrative paragraph
- We spent the second half of class working on the Bilbo's Journey Project (This was your last class to work on this)
