Things we did today:
- Grammar- parts of speech (verbs, nouns, conjunctions, etc.)
- Reviewed the start to "Lamb to the Slaughter" by Roald Dahl
- Finished reading "Lamb to the Slaughter" as a class
- Powerpoint presentation: Women in the 1950's advertisements
- Read the article "Women of 90's: You've come a long way"
- Discussed symbolism, bias, irony and the significance of the context within the story
- Worked in groups on "Sightlines 9: Analyzing a Story" worksheet
Reminders
- The Letter of Introduction was due TODAY. It should include your plan, a rough copy and a good copy
- You will receive 5% off for each day that assignments are handed in late
- The "Sightlines 9:Analyzing a Story" worksheet is NOT for homework. Most groups were almost done, so we will finish it next class
- If you are still curious about advertisements about women in the 1950's, try researching images on the Internet :)
