Today students took more notes on parts of speech. We then talked about living conditions in the Third World and the daily struggle to survive in some environments. I showed personal pictures from Africa and Asia to demonstrate some of the poverty that exists. We then read and discussed the story "The Blue Bead", which is about a girl's struggles in India.
