- Grammar (parts of speech)
- Mad libs
- Completed and reviewed as a class the story analysis for "Gore" by Sarah Ellis
- Completed a character sketch: Students chose one character from the story "Gore", provided three character traits, provided supporting evidence for their traits and drew a picture of the character
- Started reading "Once Upon a Time" by Nadine Gordimer
